For business leaders, investors, advisers and policymakers, the Budget is more than a fiscal statement - it is a signal of the operating environment ahead.
C4R - CENTRE FOR RESILIENCE is pleased to present Budget, Finance and Economic Resilience, a timely discussion examining the implications of the Federal Budget and the broader economic, financial and policy conditions shaping Australia’s future.
At a time of global uncertainty, cost-of-living pressure, housing challenges, productivity concerns and shifting fiscal conditions, this discussion will go beyond the headlines to explore what the current environment means for business confidence, investment, banking, taxation, households and long-term economic resilience.
We are pleased to be joined by an outstanding panel:

As Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Banking Association, Simon Birmingham leads the peak body representing Australia’s major banks and 180,000 banking employees nationwide. Simon holds an MBA from the University of Adelaide and serves on several leading international and national boards.
🎤 The Hon Stephen Mullighan

Stephen recently retired from politics after serving as South Australia’s Treasurer and senior minister across two governments, holding portfolios including Transport and Infrastructure, Housing, Police, and Defence and Space Industries. A former leader of Deloitte Access Economics’ Adelaide office. As Treasurer, Stephen delivered four state budgets, helped guide South Australia’s post-COVID financial recovery, and is widely respected for his disciplined fiscal leadership and commercial expertise, helping navigate challenges including the Whyalla Steelworks intervention.
